How Teeth Whitening
Strips At Home Systems Works
The hydrogen peroxide in the strip penetrates tooth enamel
and oxidizes the particles between teeth that causes discoloration.
This makes the particles turn white, thereby whitening the
appearance of teeth.
When they are used, whitening strips are positioned across the user's teeth and then gently pressed into place so to create maximum contact between the whitener and each tooth being treated. Whitening strips kits contain two different shaped strips. Half of the kit's strips are designed to fit across the user's upper teeth and the other half are shaped so to fit across their lower teeth.

Effectiveness
Although they do not contain the concentrated amount of peroxide
found in teeth whitening gel kits, strips can produce noticeable
results after a few weeks. A common problem with strips is that they
do not curve well to the sides of the teeth. This can cause the
front teeth to whiten while the side teeth stay dark. Your teeth
will have 2 - 4 shades light.
